“After watching KKBKKJ and Sikandar, even Salman Khan wouldn’t be happy,” says Taran Adarsh.

In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama’s Rohit Khilnani, veteran trade analyst Taran Adarsh discussed the failure of the Salman Khan starrer Sikandar, which was directed by AR Murugadoss and produced under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The latter said that the film was a stark contrast to the strong characters Salman played in the past in films like Sultan and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Adarsh said, “Salman Khan wasn’t the usual Salman Khan in Bajrangi Bhaijaan. If the film had released today, it would have done a business of Rs. 700-900 crores. The kind of emotions it had. Even today when you see the film on TV, you get tears looking at Salman Khan’s performance and the climax with the little girl. Emotions can never go out of fashion.”

About how things have changed for the superstar, Adarsh added, “It is Salman’s decision, after all. But after watching Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Sikandar, I am sure even Salman would not be happy; when he would compare his earlier films with these. He might not tell the world. But he might be thinking to himself that he might have been able to do better than this.”

Sikandar also starred Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Prateik Smita Patil and Kajal Aggarwal.
