Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa (Hindi) rakes in more on Day 17 than first day at Indian Box Office

Tollywood star Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise has continued with its glorious run at the box office well into its third week. The film has also benefited from a slew of releases getting stalled due to the rise in coronavirus cases of the Omicron variety and a lukewarm response to Ranveer Singh’s 83 at ticket windows. For the unversed, the film depicts the smuggling syndicate of red sanders, a rare wood that grows only in the Seshachalam Hills of Andhra Pradesh state.
Pushpa was supposed to face competition by Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey, and director SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which were supposed to release on December 31 and January 7, respectively. While Pushpa has an empty window at the box office until the release of Radhe Shyam, which stars Prabhas in the lead and is expected to open in cinemas on January 14, it still remains to be seen if it too will be postponed due to rise in cases.
As per reports, Pushpa has collected Rs 300 from its worldwide ticket sales. And the film has emerged as the biggest earner of 2021.
