Happy Birthday Jackie Shroff

Ever since Jackie Shroff made his debut as a leading man in Subhash Ghai’s Hero, good music has been synonymous with his career. But none have been greater than Hero, which had such immortal Laxmikant-Pyarelal compositions as Nindiya Se Jaagi Bahaar, Lambi Judaai, Tu Mera Janu Hai, Pyar Karne Wale and Mohabbat Yeh Mohabbat.
Jackie is rightly proud of the music in Hero, especially as the legendary Hari Prasad Chaurasia played the flute.

No musical after Hero was comparable with it. However Jackie had some terrific songs to sing on screen in Kaash (Baad Muddat Ke), Tera Naam Liya Tujhe Yaad Kiya (Ram Lakhan), Kitni Jaldi Yeh Mulaqat Guzar Jaati Hai (Angaar) and Chalak Chalak (Devdas).
But nothing after Hero could match the towering tunes of that romantic saga.
“I was lucky to have such outstanding music in my first film. From Lataji’s Nindiya Se Jaage Bahaar to Reshmaji’s Lambi Judaai… and the catchy Ding Dong… The songs went a long way in making Hero a bumper hit. Subhash Ghaiji has an incredible music sense. I had the good fortune of being part of some of the musical milestones of Subhashji’s career.”
