Saif’s parenting journey began with his first two children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, whom he shares with his ex-wife, Amrita Singh. After nearly 14 years of marriage, Saif and Amrita divorced in 2004, and the custody of the children was granted to Amrita. During those years, Saif’s presence in Sara and Ibrahim’s lives was limited, which reportedly affected his relationship with them. However, despite the distance, Saif has always expressed his deep love for his children and has worked hard to maintain a bond with them.

In a candid revelation on Koffee with Karan 8, where Saif appeared alongside his mother Sharmila Tagore, he spoke about how his family, including Amrita, made efforts to bring the children together during his second marriage to Kareena Kapoor. Saif shared, “Everyone’s made an effort. Everyone’s been gracious. At least, my children have. Even my ex-wife has been very nice. She dressed Sara and sent her to our wedding that Kareena and I had. You try to work it out. Not everything is a script written by Karan Johar, unfortunately. It’s got slightly different ways of getting there. It’s a happy space with the kids.”

Saif’s second marriage to Kareena Kapoor in 2012 brought two more sons into his life—Taimur (2016) and Jeh (2021). This time around, Saif found himself as a calmer and more grounded parent. He prioritizes his children over work and cherishes spending time with Taimur and Jeh, whether it’s playing football with Taimur or simply enjoying family time.
