Kareena Kapoor Khan has been a part of the film industry for over two decades. Even after all these years, the actress is at the top of her game. She has also broken the stereotype of actresses in India not getting work after marriage and having babies. The mother of two is still one of the most sought-after actresses and continues to charm the audiences with her performance. Recently, in conversation with Twinkle Khanna for Tweak India, Kareena opened up about her life is under constant scrutiny and how it used to anger her.
When Twinkle Khanna asked Kareena Kapoor about the worst phase of her life and how she overcame that, the Jab We Met star said, “There has always been scrutiny. In fact, my life, my career, has been practically the most talked about, most scrutinised- whether it is my break up, whether it is my marriage to Saif, whether it is my career before when it wasn’t great or why I wasn’t working with Yashraj and Dharma at that particular time when Rani (Mukerji) and Preity (Zinta) were doing all those films. Maybe it was my mistake, I had said no to so many films. People were still discussing that- why I said no to Sanjay Leela Bhansali. For one year people were discussing that. At a point, just about anybody was discussing my life and why I have no idea. That I think used to anger me.”
“It still kind of angers me when people talk about what Taimur is going to do- Is he going to be an actor is he going to go to that school? Is he doing that? Oh! he is privileged,” she added.
“I could have run away from it or be brash about it. Whenever you see me, I have always been calm and composed about it, it’s because I have also dealt with it in my own way. Off course, I get angry and upset if people talk about my life. They don’t know- why I married Saif and so many other things. I think in this industry you have to be used to it. Earlier I would make statements, be open and brash. If I was angry with someone I would say it. Now, it just goes on. You just grow this steel body on you and have to go on if you have to sustain here,” Kareena shared.
