Pooja Bhatt defends RRR’s big win at the 80th Golden Globe Awards; drops a savage reply for trolls

The SS Rajamouli directorial RRR had rocked at the box office. However, the film did not stop there. It went on to create history as it brought a Golden Globe Award home for its song ‘Naatu Naatu’. While many cheered for the RRR team in excitement, a certain section of netizens did not find ‘Naatu Naatu’ deserving to win the coveted title. Though the makers of the Telugu-language film are yet to comment on it, actress Pooja Bhatt has come forward to offer a befitting reply to those trolls.

It all happened when screenwriter Aniruddha Guha called out “everyone who’s like – “but Naatu Naatu so ordinary”, “but RRR was so average”, “ewww that accent hehehe.” Sharing his mind on the same, Guha tweeted, “kya dukh paal rahe ho bachpan se ke kissi ki khushi dekhi nahi jaati (what misery you are suffering that you can’t digest other’s happiness)?”

As Pooja replied to Aniruddha’s tweet, she wrote, “Insaan ki fitrat hai ke woh apna dukh jhel leta hai par doosron ka sukh bardaashth nahin kar sakta (It is human nature to bear one’s own sorrow and not be able to bear the happiness of others),” followed by praying hand emoticon.

Among many other Indian celebrities, Pooja had also congratulated the team of RRR for their big win, especially composer M M Keeravaani. The composer has collaborated with the actress on several Hindi projects such as Zakhm, Jism, Rog and Dhokha. Post the win, Keeravaani tweeted, “Overwhelmed by the response from all over for the Golden Globe.”

For the unversed, ‘Naatu Naatu’ from RRR was nominated along with ‘Carolina’, ‘Ciao Papa’, ‘Hold My Hand’, and ‘Lift Me Up’ in the Best Original Song category. SS Rajamouli, M M Keeravaani, Ram Charan, and Jr NTR attended the award show held at Los Angeles.
