Satyameva Jayate 2 box office: John Abraham’s film turns out to be a disappointment with shockingly low numbers

John Abraham and Divya Khosla Kumar’s masala-actioner Satyameva Jayate 2, which hit the screens in the last weekend, has turned out to be an epic disappointment at the box office. The film has merely collected Rs 9.50 crore in its extended weekend of 4 days, which clearly shows SMJ 2 has been rejected by audience. Well, this has sent shockwaves across the country as the film had all the ingredients, which a commercial potboiler demands.
With this shockingly low collections, we can’t expect the film to remain steady in the weekdays, thus making the film a forgettable affair. On the other hand, Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma’s Antim: The Final Truth, which released simultaneously at the box office, has managed to earn decently well at the ticket windows.
In fact, the poor business of Satyameva Jayate 2 has turned out to be a big plus point for Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi as the cop-actioner again turned out to be the first choice for the cine-goers. The film currently stands with the grand total of Rs 189.12 crore and is expected to enter the Rs 200 crore club at the domestic market.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani under the banners of T-Series Films and Emmay Entertainment, Satyameva Jayate 2 also stars Anup Soni, Sahil Vaid, Gautami Kapoor, Rajeev Pillai, Harsh Chhaya and Zakir Hussain in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Milap Zaveri, who is known for helming Satyameva Jayate and Marjaavaan.
On the professional front, John Abraham will be next seen in Attack, which is directed and co-written by Lakshya Raj Anand. The film also features Jacqueline Fernandez, Rakul Preet Singh, Ratna Pathak Shah and Prakash Raj in pivotal roles. It is produced by John Abraham, Jayantilal Gada and Ajay Kapoor under the banners of JA Entertainment, Pen India Limited and AK Productions and will hit the screens on January 26, 2022 coinciding with Republic Day.
