Ujjain Shiv Jyoti Arpanam 2023: MP creates Guinness World Record by lighting 21 lakh earthen lamps on Mahashivratri

Ujjain: Madhya Pradesh on Saturday created a Guinness World Record by lighting 21 lakh earthen lamps in Ujjain on the occasion of Mahashivratri 2023. This year, ‘Shiv Jyoti Arpanam-2023’ was organised on Mahashivaratri in Ujjain. Notably, Last year on Mahashivratri, 11,71,078 diyas were lit in Ujjain.
According to reports, around 22,000 volunteers were roped in to achieve the word record. Previously, “Ayodhya Deepotsav 2022” had a record of lighting a maximum 15.76 lakh diyas on Deepawali. On the auspicious occasion, Ujjain witnessed a breathtaking laser show at the “Shiv Jyoti Arpanam 2023”. Firecrackers were also burst at the event and devotional songs dedicated to Lord Shiva were played.
