Meet Dhirtiman Bora of Biswanath Chariali, Guwahati, who has invented bamboo bottles that are 100 per cent leak-proof and is a step towards reducing the use of plastic bottles from our daily lives. As the bottle is made with bamboo shoot and is completely organic, it keeps the water cool throughout the day even during scorching summers. You will be surprised to know, that even the cork is made of bamboo and is completely leak proof.

Dhritiman’s vision is to replace the entire plastic industry and manufacturing units with that of eco-friendly bamboo and jute products. And that’s the reason, he is taking the digital route to spread the words and hopes to achieve the aim of 100% plastic-free India.

For entrepreneur Dhritiman Bora, it took 17 years to invent bamboo water bottles that are leak-proof. And within no time he has created a buzz in the domestic and international market. These bottles are completely organic and are made with durable bamboo — bhaluka (Bambusa balcooa). The outer layer of these bottles is polished with a waterproof oil polish that gives it a glossy finish.
